If your gas and electricity supply needs to be switched on, please get in touch with us via the tenant app.

Please make sure there is credit on the meters before doing so (if the supply relies on a pre-payment meter).

Our customer services team will request an urgent appointment and confirm this to you.

Once your gas and electricity supply is switched on, you must contact the gas and electricity suppliers to change the supply into your name.

To find out who your gas supplier is, contact 0870 608 1524. To find out who your electric supplier is, contact 0845 601 3268.

Bins

Bins should already be in situ at your new property. If you have any bins missing, please contact Durham County Council 03000 26 0000.

If you need to apply for Universal Credit, you can do so online at www.gov.uk/universal-credit or call the Universal Credit helpline on 0345 600 0723 if there is any reason you cannot apply online.
